She stressed that information on relevant topics should be carefully selected taking into account time, changing cultures, and perceptions. She also added that a range of learning strategies should be used to encourage students' development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and increase their performance. 10NOV Book Promotion "Ngjyrat e Viteve" At Bedër University College was promoted the novel "Ngjyrat e Viteve" by writer Sonila Strakosha. Sonila Strakosha made a book presentation conveying to participants her feelings and experiences while writing the novel. Also during the conversation, it was discussed the art of writing and the importance of reading, and the role literature plays in building memory and imagination. The book is a colorless image of Tirana in the '80s and a teenager who orders silent streets with the desire to discover the forbidden world through the small screen. 09NOV The Museum of Secret Surveillance "House of Leaves" First-year students, accompanied by the lecturers of the Department of Education and English Language, paid a visit to the Museum of Secret Surveillance "House of Leaves". Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with facts and history, which show the darkest period of the country's history. 02NOV Information meeting with the department of education and English language The internal Quality Assurance Unit together with the Department of Education and English Language organized the information meeting with the internal evaluation group for the internal evaluation of the program "Professional Master in English Language Teaching" offered by the Department of Education and English Language. The meeting discussed the establishment of the workgroup, coordination, and deadlines, as well as the notification and inclusion of students and all staff in the internal evaluation process. 28OCT Intercultural Communication Competencies The Department of Communication Sciences and the Department of Education and English Language at Beder University College held an open lecture on “Intercultural Communication Competencies”. The guest for the lecture was the professor and writer from the American University of Skopje, Prof. Assoc Dr. Ivana Trajanoska. She discussed with the students about culture, its importance in communication, and the coexistence of cultures. Prof. Trajanoska discussed with students the idea of thinking outside the box. According to her, intercultural communication should be seen as a way of thinking outside the box. The lecture was conducted interactively, and students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in exercises. 17OCT Orientation days. Academic year 2022 - 2023 As part of the orientation days, the first-year students of the Department of English Language and Education were introduced to the academic staff and also had constructive conversations. Students received valuable pieces of advice and also were introduced to all aspects of having a successful student life. 01JUN Arta Dade in Bedër, the election of the President and EU integration Invited by the Department of Education and English Language at an open meeting with the students of Bedr University College was Mrs. Arta Dade, who talked about the political current situation in the country, the election of the President of the Republic, Albania's prospects for integration into the European Union, etc. Arta Dade is one of the most prominent figures in Albanian politics in the transition period, which was engaged in active politics at a time when women in this sphere were few. The first woman to hold the position of Foreign Minister, former Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, and Member of the Albanian Assembly for five consecutive legislatures. Among other things, Mrs. Dade has served for many years as Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and International Relations. She told about her journey into politics, encouraging students to become an active part of society as young people to take control of the country's fortunes. In the discussion she expressed her conviction that Albanian political parties have lost their identity, not supporting the policies of the wings they represent, whether left or right. 20MAY The 8th International Conference on Education and Social Sciences - ICESS 2022 The Department of Education and English Language at Bedër University College organized the 8th International Conference on Education and Social Sciences - ICESS 2022, on the topic: "New Perspectives in Education and Social Sciences." The conference was organized in cooperation with partners: Alexander Xhuvani University (Elbasan), Educators without Borders International, and ELTA - English Language Teachers Association. The conference was attended by over 60 referees from 14 different countries of the world. ICESS 2022 offered an opportunity to academics and professionals in the fields of education and social science. Punimet e konferencës u përshëndetën nga Përgjegjësja e Departamentit të Edukimit dhe Gjuhës Angleze, njëkohësisht dhe Kryetare e Konferencës, Dr. Ana Uka, e cila theksoi rëndësinë e kësaj conference, sidomos në periudhën në të cilën po kalon bota pas pandemisë së Covid19. Rektori i komanduar i Kolegjit Universitar “Bedër”, Prof. Asoc. Dr. Rahim Ombashi, shprehu rëndësinë që kanë të tilla organizime dhe tha se rekomandimet që dalin nga kjo konferencë do të jenë të vlefshme për studiuesit e këtyre fushave. Dr. Skënder Bruçaj, the Chairman of the Board of Administration of KU Bedër, was greeted by the conference works; Prof. Dr. Mohammed A. Albaili, President of Educators without Borders International; Prof. Associate Dr. Elisabeta Osmanaj, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Alexander Xhuvani University, Prof. Dr. Shpresa Delija, former President of ELTA - English Language Teachers Association and professors at the University of Tirana. Invited in the quality of the keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Mohammed A. Albaili, held a reference on the topic: Re-concepting teaching and learning after Covid19. Also in the quality of the keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Baharul Islam from the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, India. The latter referred to the topic: "Autonomy" and "motivation" among scientific seekers during the Covid-19 pandemic: A phenomenological study." Then, the conference continued with 2 more sessions, with 3 sessions each. The sessions were held in a hybrid format, with referees present at Bedër University College and online.
