Within the framework of the project for "Education on Media and Information with Future Teachers", the second training was held with the students of the Department of Education and English Language at "Beder" University College.
The training was conducted by the head of the Department of Communication Sciences, Dr. Erlis Cela.
The project for "Education on Media and Information with Future Teachers" is implemented by the Albanian Institute of Media with the financial support of the US Embassy in Tirana.
The students of the Third Year of the English Language and Literature Bachelor, along with members of the Youth Club, participated in the promotion of the book “Enciklopedia Imagjinare,” a postroman by Prof. Dr. Bajram Kosumi, organized at the Tirana Book Fair.
During the discussion with students, Kosumi talked about Albanian and foreign literature, emphasizing the importance of in-depth studies in the Humanities. He also mentioned his first visit to Bedër 7 years ago and the positive impressions from the meeting with students. Furthermore, the honorable Professor and committed intellectual, Kosumi expressed the desire and readiness for another visit and expanded interaction with Bedër’s students and staff in the near future.
Within the framework of the project "Media and Information Education with Future Teachers", the first training with students of "Professional Master in English Language Teaching for both Lower and Upper Secondary Education" took place today at Bedër University College.
In this training was discussed the role that media plays in shaping our ideas of the world, how we perceive our reality and everyday life, as well as the importance of recognizing the media in being a responsible teacher and citizen.

Z. Philip McCann, a culture and art columnist was invited in the framework of the course 'Postcolonial Literature', lectured by Ph.D. Edona Llukaçaj.
In conversation with students and Youth Club members, Mr. McCann spoke about his experience as a columnist, including his contribution as a literary critic for “The Guardian & The Spectator.”
He also focused on one of his stories from The Miracle Shed review (UK: Faber & Faber, 1996), to illustrate societal marginalization, as an issue that continues to have a significant impact worldwide and as one of the main themes of this course.
The Department of Education and English Language organized an open lecture with Mr. Fari Laçka, who graduated with a Master of Science in English Language and Literature in 2016.
Z. Laçka shared with the students his long professional experience in the field of translation. He explained to students some of the methods and strategies used when translating and interpreting books.
Students asked a variety of questions and learned new insights during interactive discussions with him.
The open lecture was organized within the cycle of meetings "Alumni Meeting - Career Path and Success".
As part of the orientation days, the first-year students of the Department of English Language and Education were introduced to the academic staff and also had constructive conversations. Students received valuable pieces of advice and also were introduced to all aspects of having a successful student life.
The Department of Education and English Language and the Alumni Office at Bedër University College organized the "Bedër Alumni Reunion", a reunion of graduates between generations of this department.
During this meeting were present lecturers of the department as well as lecturers who have been part of the department over the years.
This event serves as an opportunity for graduates to share their experiences, interact, and discuss their achievements in the professional field.
The Department of Education and English Language at Bedër University College organized the seminar on the topic: "Teaching Profession. Journey and Challenges."
Invited to talk with the students was Mrs. Fozilet Simoni, a specialist in the Quality Inspection and Assessment Sector at the General Directorate of Pre-University Education (MAS).
The purpose of this seminar was to inform students about the teaching profession. Ms. Fozilet Simoni also shared her personal experience with the students, introducing them to her journey as a teacher, as well as advising them to follow their passion and not to give up on the many difficulties in this profession.
